Our Story

My first day of high school at Jordan High in Sandy I was a scared sophomore who new she was going to get lost and was scared she didn't know very many people. Of course I was late to my first class because I got lost. As I walked in there was a whole row of cute boys sitting in the back row and one open spot on the side next to them, so that is where I sat. I didn't talk to anyone that whole class because I was too scared. As the next couple weeks went on I started talking in that class and met some of the kids in that class. One Friday night I went to a football game with one of my best friends, she decided to stay after the game and go home with her dad so I ended up leaving with a couple of girls I knew. Our friends mom dropped myself and one other girl off at some kids house who I had no idea who anyone was. My friend was dating one of the kids so we left with them. Colton was driving and it was my friend, her boyfriend, another kid and Colton. We drove around for a while, went to another persons house and then just hung out all night. Colton and I started talking but I had no interest in him, at the time I was kind of dating another kid. Anyways, after that night the next day those boys went fishing and then came over to my house to pick me and my friend up to go to a friends house. The next day was Sunday, Colton came and picked me up and we went to Pebble Brook Golf course, drove the carts around and went mini golfing on the terrible mini golf course! After that night we texted every day all day, he would take me home from school and we became best friends. I still had no interest in him just thought he was a great person. After a couple months of being best friends and spending every day going to lunch together and hanging out after school Colton had asked me to the Christmas dance. As we were cleaning up my room from the huge mess he made we had our first kiss, I didn't tell anyone besides one of Colton's good friends that night! After that night things just fell into place. We did everything together! After 2 years of dating on and off in high school Colton graduated and went to a Jr. College in California, I was still a Senior in High School. It was tough, I hated every minute of it. I went with his parents to move him out there and then visited a couple of times. We went through a lot that year, a lot of ups and downs and learned a lot about each other. Finally after 7 long months Colton was home! Everything seemed to fall back into place. Once it was time to decide where he was going to go the next year there were a lot of different options. He ended up going to Mesa State College in Grand Junction, CO which was 4 hours away from home. It was a lot easier but still hard on us. He came home every weekend until basketball started and then I would go to most home games and would go visit as much as I could. On March 16, 2011 we got engaged! I was the happiest girl and was so excited/nervous for what was next to come. We got married July 27, 2011. It was perfect, I would not change anything about that day. We are now living in Grand Junction where Colton is a Senior right now and will be graduating in May!
